Abstract
This article above is an attempt of reflexion on the one of the most famous protagonists in the Church musical activities, on Alexander Archangielski. The Author is concentrating not only on the composer’s way of life or his personality; he is also presenting “mysteries” of the artist’s human development and his brilliant carrier as well. Many spheres of his many-sided activity were an essential element of the Russian culture. Archangielski was generally known not only as a Church conductor or an excellent choir director, but also as a very active community worker, struggling against difficult social conditions and trying to better the situation of contemporary artists.
