Women’s Ordination in New Pentecostal Communities in Poland

Ewa Sikora

Abstract

An issue of women’s ordination penetrates also various Pentecostal churches. Although at the beginning of that religious group a number of communities allowed women to occupy many leadership posts, for decades it has been the problem that divides Pentecostals among themselves. The present article describes the state of debate on ordination of women to the Christian ministry in Pentecostal churches established in Poland after 1989. Those communities demonstrate significant openness towards entrusting ministerial offices to women, finding theological justification for it in the New Testament.
