Abstract

Translated Slavic hymnography, like the original Byzantine hymnography, contains a large number of antitheses and antinomies, which, obviously, are one of the most important poetic features of liturgical texts. In our opinion,
these poetic means served as a model for many original Slavic works, therefore, the study of antitheses and antinomies in translated hymnography is an important task of medieval studies, in particular, literary criticism. The
article deals with the most striking antitheses and antinomies of the Sunday, Christmas, and Passion services.
