Abraham Kuyper's organic vision of inspiration as a doctrinal proposal for the contemporary evangelicalism – a summary
Mateusz Wichary
Abstract
Modern evangelical doctrine of inspiration has been formed under the influence of B.B. Warfield, who based it on scientificaly pursued credibility. Abraham Kuyper's concept, not denying the rationality of the revelation of God, stresses the role of the Holy Spirit in the process of cognition in general and inspiration in particular. Therefore - without contradicting its historicity – he views inspiration as inevitably associated with an act of faith, even in spite of external proofs. It is argued that becouse of that it appears to be valuable and more coherent with the body of other evangelical doctrines and its piety.
