Diacritical features of pentecostal eschatology

Abstract

This article focuses on Pentecostal eschatology, which stands out against traditional eschatological concepts. The first part of the article discusses the origins of Pentecostal eschatology and with understanding of eschatology within evangelicalism. The subsequent parts of the work deal with the premises of Pentecostalism and the its eschatology. The article raises questions about the Parousia and how to prepare for it in light of Pentecostal eschatology. Pentecostal eschatology emphasizes the Person of the Holy Spirit as the inspirer of the process of man’s conversion and his preparation for God’s judgment. Only the Holy Spirit empowers man to cooperate with God on the realization of the eschatological scenario. Finally, the question is asked whether eschatology has already been realized. Pentecostal theology claims that eschatology is in the process of realization, and can only be realized in the Parousia.
