Attempted split from the United Evangelical Church in 1956

Abstract

In 1956, just three years after the expansion of the United Evangelical Church, some congregations decided to withdraw from this Church and reactivate the Christian Church of the Evangelical Faith. The venture failed due to the lack of unanimity among the activists and the repression of the Communist authorities. After 1961, the congregations gradually began to return to the United Evangelical Church. Only a few activists did not return and instead formed the Church of Christ.
