Specifics of the provision of psychological and pedagogical assistance by a religion teacher to a student with an evaluation of special educational needs

Abstract

One of the demands of modern education of children and adolescents is the inclusion in the class team, and thus inclusion with peers, of every student, including those with diverse special educational needs. This results in the concretization of support activities. In this article, attention is focused on students whose special educational needs have been assessed and evaluated, that is, those possessing specific disabilities and social maladjustment and at risk of social maladjustment. According to the provisions of educational law, every teacher, including catechists, is obliged to provide psychological and pedagogical assistance to students for whom an evaluation of special education needs has been issued. In this publication, after introducing the entities and persons obliged to provide psychological and pedagogical assistance at school, the role of the religion teacher involved in the process of supporting a student with an evaluation of special education needs is discussed. It also outlines the tasks to be fulfilled by the catechist in the
planning and implementation of the didactic process in a class team, which includes a student with a special educational condition.
