Question of presence of Christ in Lord`s Supper in LWF-Publications
Jerzy Sojka
Abstract
The article „Question of presence of Christ in Lord`s Supper in LWF-Publications” presents how in the years 1947-2010, i.e. since the I General Assembly in Lund until the XI General Assembly in Stuttgart the publications of the world’s biggest Lutheran churches’ association refer to the key motive of Lutheran doctrine on Lord`s Supper. This subject was of special interest to the first two General Assemblies (Lund, Hanover). In the reflection on the presence of Christ in Lord`s Supper in the period presented here, the following motives can be distinguished: category of „Word” (including liturgical and pneumatological contexts), relationship of the body and blood of Jesus Christ to the sacrament’s elements, as well as ecclesiological (including practical: Mission and Diaconia) and eschatological contexts.
